If cats are more than pets to you —if they're family, comfort, laughter, and little souls who make life feel lighter — you're in the right place.

Welcome to Denis The Cat, a small (cat)family-run shop born from a deep love for cats and a real commitment to helping felines in need.

We're Denis and Ilaya, a Belgian husband and Mexican wife living in sunny Mexico, sharing our home with 15 rescued cats, each with their own story of survival, healing, and love. They were once abandoned, lost, or unwanted. Now they are our family and they inspire everything we create.

🐾 Why Denis The Cat?

Denis The Cat is the heart and face of our brand. Created three years ago as a feline avatar — intelligent, witty, wise, and full of charm — he was inspired in part by our real Ragdoll cat, Mino. More than a mascot, he embodies what we believe in: kindness, curiosity, empathy, elegance, and a deep respect for animals.

He's named after me, Denis, and reflects my Belgian Roots. Because I speak English with French accent, Denis The Cat carries that same French touch: a soft accent and familiar expressions that familiar expressions that make him feel warm, personal and unique.

Denis The Cat is the face of our store today, and the future voice of our videos, stories, and e-books. Through him, we hope to share beauty, humor, wisdom, and a deeper understanding of the feline world.

Life with rescued cats means tiny rituals, dramatic stares, quiet cuddles, and the kind of love only true cat people understand. Every design we create is inspired by that world: the beauty, personality, resilience, and tenderness of cats.

When you wear our shirts, you're wearing your love for cats, your identity as a cat person, and your connection to the feline souls who make life better.

💛 Our Mission

For several years, Ilaya has personally rescued cats from the streets and difficult situations, helping more than 200 cats and counting find safety and loving homes independently alongside her friend Isis, out of pure compassion and without outside funding.

With every purchase, you help us bring another cat off the streets and into a loving home.
